The hawk dlx 250 EFI took me a few hours to assemble but it wasn't too difficult. It is a solid motorcycle, that is light weight and easy to ride. It starts right up each time. It lacks in power and could benefit from a 6th gear, but all in all its a blast! I have 60 worry-free miles on mine so far. I recommend it. Sep 04, 2016 · For my second Hawk 250, I purchased the MIKUNI VM26 Carburetor Hawk 250 RPS and new jets, it was faster to setup since you didn’t have to cut out the screws and cap for the adjustment screw. My hawk 250 upgrades, I have new sprockets, carb with new jets, new exhaust, new chain and digital cluster.
Here's the funny part. The air jet (adjustment) was set right on at 1-1/8 turns for both carbs. I thought I'd play with them a little bit today. The right carb, seemed to do alright at the stock adjustment of 1-1/8th turns. The left carb, seemed to idle up a little bit around 3/4 to 1 turn. I'm measuring my turns at 1/2 increments.
The basic idea of adjusting the CVK carb is to set the air/fuel mixture screw to provide the highest idle setting possible. Most CVK carbs have the air/fuel mixture screw on the intake manifold side of the carburetor (toward the engine, away from the air filter).

Whether you have a 2 stroke or a 4 stroke, if the idle adjustment is set too low, the engine won’t stay running. Turn the idle screw in and see if your dirt bike stays running.
