Miter saw table posts. Attach the 2×4 legs to the center of the miter saw station. Plumb the legs, drill pilot holes through the frame and insert 1 5/8″ screws. I recommend you to clamp the legs to frame before inserting the screws. That will hold everything locked together, while you drive in the screws. Wood: birch and pine plywood, birch, 2x4 lumber (usually fir) Finish: none This design is functional and sturdy. I could stand on top of this with no problem. With the drawers and cutoff storage, this maximizes my space underneath the miter saw and changes it from a big scrap/sawdust pile to an actual functional space. Jul 08, 2014 · To support the sides of the miter saw, I trimmed the two remaining 21″ boards to fit perpendicularly between the two 49″ boards with 1-1/2″ overhang. During the planning stage, I measured the height of my miter saw and found it to be 4-1/4″ tall. The miter saw will sit on top of a 3/4″ piece of plywood.
Using your miter saw, cut four pieces of 2x4 (treated) to 40 inches in length. Then, adjust your compound miter saw for a 20-degree miter (to the left) with about a 7-degree (angled to the left) bevel. Set stock support directly in front of the miter saw.
The left section of the miter saw station is a full 8′ long. The right section is a full 4′ long. The miter saw section in between is about 2” wider than the minimum distance to accommodate my miter saw. With the appropriate height measurement marked I used a couple of pieces of 3/4” ply to create a ledge for the miter saw shelf to rest on.

This miter saw station has been an incredible increase of shop organization and greatly increased the ease of use and dust collection for my miter saw. It is 177″ long, 37″ deep, and about 71″ tall depending on the leg levelers.
The heart of this miter saw stand is four frames: the top, bottom and two wings. They're all the same length and width, BUT the top and bottom boxes are made from 1x3s (A, B) while the two wings are made from 1x4s (C, D) ripped to width based on the height of your miter saw's table.

After those 8 pieces have been cut (marked with an X), any remaining pieces can be used to make smaller pieces -- including the feet for the miter saw. The required cuts are 9" wide x 8' long for two sides; 9" wide x 16" for four box ends; tops cut from the remaining wood. A shoot board can be used to guide the circular saw through the long cuts. и With the miter saw mounted to the center cabinet, two long extension tables provide sturdy support on each side when you’re cutting long workpieces to length.
